LOs from latest July CC

This months July Cyber Crop over at Top50 has been and gone. It was a lot of fun, the theme was lights, camera, action. The lovely Linda (guest DT) actually came up with all the suggestions for this months CC and we (the DT) loved them so much we didn't change a thing.

I didn't get a LO completed for the opening night challenge - just not enough time on my hands. I did however get all the others done, partly due to a scrapping evening with the lovely Kathie from Scraphappykat when her and her lovely daughters came for a visit.

Challenge 1: To create a LO showcasing You and to tell a little about yourself. I did this in a roundabout way, by writing a letter to my younger self. There are a few tidbits about me here, but I know that the grey marker is hard to read....sorry. I have used some a little bit fANTsy pins, a gorgeous (and I mean gorgeous) button from Lovelybug Bits n Bobs and a doiley from Lime Tree Creations. I think it has come together quite nicely.

Challenge 3: Was to create a LO that incorporated an 'action' photo and the word 'action' somewhere on the LO. I struggled with this a bit at first, but have to say in the end I love how it has come together. I have used the ticket stubs that the man from the arcade was good enough to give us as embellishmets and I think they look pretty OK.

Challenge 4: Was to create a LO that used a close up photo that was at least a 5x7 and base the LO around that. I had fun with these new papers doing some fussy cutting and mounting. There is some hidden journalling behind the photo and I have included a photo of that too.

Well, that is it for now. As some of you would of noticed - there is no photo for challenge 2. That was my challenge and it was called 5 minutes of fame. I showed you a pic of that one in my last post....the one where Miss T. met Dora.

Thanks for looking. Hope everyone is well. Hugs to you all.

Not so quick share

It has been a while since I have shared anything here, so I thought I would just put up a couple of LOs that I have done over the past month or so - all for Top50 challenges.

The cake: Should probably read the cake(s) because Miss T's birthday cake was a bunch of little cupcakes decorated to form a magical garden. She loved it, I was 'proud as punch' of my achievement and everyone thought they tasted pretty good (at least that is what they told me!) This LO really hasn't photographed well at all and I broke about 100 needles (OK - slight exageration there) sewing those circles - but I love the effect.

Believe in Yourself: Well - with some of the issues I am having with Master M. who really is a prepubescent teen - I need for him to remember to believe in himself. I have to keep reminding him that he can be anything he wants to be if he puts his mind to it. Had fun with this creating a transparent window and lots of messy sewing around the flowers. This LO has some amazing textures on it - wish the photograph showed that better.

Swim: A sketch challenge that I had fun doing....I love this photo of Miss T. swimming. I have also used some of my pins on this LO - these are from my 'Sunkissed' range. You can find my pins on my f/b page at 'a little bit fANTsy' - come check them out.

Once Upon a Time: Love this photo of Miss T. and am a bit upset that I haven't done it more justice in with this LO. I don't mind it...but I don't love it either. Oh - I do love the flowers I made though.

Footy Obsessed: Firstly let me say that I am glad I checked the dictionary on this one...or it would of been 'Footy Obssessed' and I would of died of embarassment. I don't claim to be the perfect speller....but you have got to get your titles right....right? Creating this LO was the most fun I have had in a long time with paper - I basically papermached bits of the football section on to cardstock to create the back ground. That and the photos are my favourite parts of this LO.

Dora: Scrapping this photo is something that I have wanted to do for ages but it was pretty hard with all those colours. Finally I gave it a go - and I don't mind how it has turned out. This is actually my second first attempt was ruined by a ridiculous amount of glimmer mist on the background - gee -have any of you ever known me to be heavy handed with the GM? ;)

A couple of notes re: Dora LO.

1. Those pins are hand dyed by moi and look amazing IRL

2. Those yoyo flowers - under my rolled ones were made by Vicki - you can purchase them here 3. If anyone in the area can remember the date that Dora visited us at Officeworks - could you let me know please?

4. I don't mind if you commend me on my HAND CUT title on this one!

AND just because I feel bad that Miss T's LOs double that of Master M's in this post - I thought I would share a recent photo that I edited here of Master M. playing footy a couple of weeks ago. How cool is that effect? Well - I like it anyway!

Well - on that note I am signing off. This has taken way too long due to some issues with our computer. I am ready to throw it out the window and get a new one. I have tried decluttering it, we have bumped up the speed significantly and it still takes hours for everything to load etc.

Hope you are all well and thanks for visiting. :D Remember - I love it when you leave me even just a little note to let me know that you dropped by ;)

Misting.....who knew it could be sooooo much fun?

This is what I created today. I got the idea for the misting here. Now admittedly this is one of the very few LOs I have done of late that does not have some from of October Afternoon paper on it (my absolute fav right now) but I loved the idea so much I just had to share and give credit where credit is due. Even though the photo is a little washed out - I have to say that I love, love, love the effect. I did this LO for Vicki's monthly challenge over at Top 50. Thanks Vicki - it was a heap of fun!

The title - which had to be song lyrics from a song that had meaning to you was a Josh Groban song, "You are Loved (Don't Give Up)". If anyone is interested in hearing the song...the Youtube link to it is here....but be warned....I think it is a VERY powerful song and it certainly has the ability to make me cry nearly every time.

Thanks all..

I scrapped!!!

It feels like it has been forever since I actually sat down and did some serious scrapping. Now so far I have only done 3 LOs and one of them isn't actually photographed yet - but this months CC over at Top50 has really got the scrapping juices flowing - this is the most scrapping I have done in like.....forever! Must be the awesome Fairy Tale theme that is going on...I love fairy tales.

This first LO was the opening night CC set by Joy - we had to use a picture of a fairy tale to base our LO on and I chose this poster of Beauty and The Beast:
To create this:

The journalling is very subtle and is probably not readable, but Matthew actually took this photo of Ray and I on one of our recent vacations. He did a pretty good job I think.

This next LO is my sample LO for my CC challenge. If anyone is interested in giving it a go - you have till Sunday night to get it uploaded and the challenge can be found here. (OK...not a lot of notice....but I must admit, I have been neglecting this blog as much as my scrapping). I totally love how this LO has turned of my favourites in a LONG time. I have used a little fishy button from the lovely Sue over at Lovelybug Bits n Bobs. In keeping with the theme of Fairy Tales (did I mention I love fairy tales), I used The Little Mermaid as my title and went to town trying to create a bit of an 'oceany' theme.

Unlike me - I have also included a close up of one of my little clusters....showing my 'unpicked stitching' and 2 of my new crystal pins. If anyone is interested in looking at more of my goodies - I can be found on facebook here. Would LOVE to see you there.

Well, that is it for tonight. Hpe you get over to the Top50 CC over the weekend to check out more of our wonderful challenges. If you don't get time to do that, perhaps pop over to check out our monthly challenges...there is lots of great prizes up for grabs.

Night, night all.

Handmade by Suzanne

If you too post this on your blog you too will be in for a chance to win.
All you need to do is add Handmade By Suzanne’s badge to your blog and a link back to the store AND post the details of the competition on your blog. Let them know via Facebook that you have done it! They will draw 10 entrants at random for the prizes and the competition ends Midnight 20th April 2011.

As you know I got to go play with the gals in Mt. Gambier a couple of weekends ago. The lovely Charm had us all over for a fun scrapping afternoon and I can not beleive that I actually got some scrapping done. (In all honesty I only brought my scrappy stuff with me to keep up the pretence that I was there for scrapping and not for Vicki's surprise b'day party!)

Anyway - while there I was totally Chamonized and I created this LO which I absolutely love. Thanks Charm for allowing me to totally copy your style......I LOVE it.

Been busy...

...doing not a lot of anything. I turned 40 last month. WOWSERS, where does the time go? Had a blast. My twin and I went all out and had a party. We had a ball and think most people that came did too. Will get some pics up soon. (Had a huge issue with the memory card being corrupted so we have had to retrieve them, with a professionals help, and now need to get them on to the computer). Last week I went for a road trip to Mt. Gambier to catch up with some friends that I have made right here - through the internet. Does it get better than that? I actually spent over 16 hours of 48 hours, in a car driving to be there. At 40 you would think I know better...but alas...some of us never really grow up. It was Vicki's 30th birthday and we came from far and wide to surprise her, and surprise her we did. What a great weekend. I have to once again say a huge thanks to Matt (Vicki's other half) for doing such a great job of organising it and thanks to Shaz for driving most of the way. Here is a pic of those of us from Top50 that were there. It isn't the greatest pic - but it does the job. There is a better one somewhere out there, taken with a different camera. Apparently I am the only person who doesn't use a Nikon and my Canon is way too hard to figure out. LOL. Speaking of Top50, we have some new monthly challenges up and we would love for you to join in on the fun and hopefully win some awesome prizes! Come check us out here. My example LO for this month is this:

Hope you get to come over and give the challenges a go.

Hugs and MWAH,

New Challenge...

The monthly challenges are up at Top50 for the month of March.

My challenge this month is this LO based on a Pagemaps (halfpage) sketch:

Now I am not going to lie - this sketch for me was hard.....REALLY hard. I have never done a half page before and fitting everything you want into such a small space is no easy feat. But to complete my challenge you don't have to scrap a 12 by can adjust the sketch to suit a 12 by 12 LO if you want - it is completely up to you.

The prize for this sketch is a $25 voucher from The Scrapbooking Haven. The range of stuff they have is fact...I might just go do some shopping right now. It is a pity you can't win your own challenge hey?
Now if you are interested in a challenge or two come and check out the rest of the challenges here.
We would love to see you.

Well - yet again I have been very slack. I guess with school holidays, my MIL visiting, a road trip, work and life there really has been very little time to scrap, little own blog.

Right now we are in the middle of the Top50 February example LO for my challenge is this:

If you would like to see the challenge associated with this LO - check it out here. My challenge is challenge 4. The very talented Vicki, Sue and Guest DT member Sarah have also scrapped up a storm and come up with some fantastic challenges.

Not much else to share for now. Hope you are all well.

Hugs & MWAH

Happy 2011

Wowsers, just in the the heading I made two typos; maybe I need to stop celebrating with the alcahamahol, being that we are already 10 days into the new year.

Hope you all had a great one. Christmas here was lots of fun, despite the fact that my darling hubby only narrowly missed out on being admitted to hospital for the big day - he did a bit of begging and maybe some bribing of some doctors to be here. Yeah - it would NOT of been the same without him.

New Years was a quiet one at my Mum's, but it was still enjoyable.

As for scrapping - I must say - I have been VERY quiet. The one LO that I did for this months challenges at top 50 was this one. The products from this LO are mostly from Janets kit at Scrapville for last month. I love how the red and black look together.

I have just finished another LO today but you will have to come to The top50 CC this month to see what I have done. It will be up there sometime this week - not telling when though - that would take half the fun of waiting away. Hope to see you there.

Hugs all.
